When I woke up, Camel showed itself in the desert. I had an appointment so wasn’t sure about the timing of this. I asked, “Do you want to talk?” Camel said, “I can…unless you have some place to be?” I felt a little wink there, and I also thought it was funny the camel knew that! I decided to try to wait until later, since I didn’t want to rush the conversation, but somehow this camel showed up on and off throughout my day, almost like it was a loving spirit guardian.
After I finished my appointment, I started leaving the parking lot when I was stopped at a long red light. Behind me was a car with two big dogs. They looked like they might be white labs, but I’m not knowledgable enough to know. I just saw they were big and were VERY far out of the car. They looked like they were smiling, with their tongues hanging out, and I was a little concerned they might fall out if the car suddenly started going. My gaze caught the attention of the driver, and I smiled because that’s my nature. As I looked back at the dogs, I continued smiling and it was genuine. I was drawn into their happiness and wondered if they’d talk with me?
I felt a block, almost like there was a wall between them and me, and I heard something like, “We just want to be free and happy!” I could feel almost a surfer vibe, as if they didn’t want to be constrained by anything. It also felt as if they were somewhat resistant to talking with me because they didn’t want me to harsh their buzz! I then heard a quiet thought that translated to, “If we fall out, then we’ve had fun and it was the right time.”
Nevertheless, when I looked in the rearview mirror again, they were now inside the car! I wondered if they could feel my concern, which might translate incorrectly as disapproval (which happens often between humans!), and it felt almost like they were a little ashamed they were doing something considered dangerous? I didn’t want them to feel that from me! I just wanted them to be safe.
A moment later, the light changed and as I started moving ahead, I saw they were back to hanging very far out the window. At the next light, with them still behind me, I saw the driver looking for a long time at her cell phone. In an instant, I saw that perhaps what I considered dangerous behavior and their having a block up to talking with me would make sense if what was really going on was some learned bad behavior, just as children model their actions after what their parents do. Using a cell phone, even at a red light, isn’t safe. It takes attention off the road (even stopped, we need to use all of our senses to be aware of not only our own driving, but what every other driver or pedestrian is doing). I was curious whether they thought if their “mom” could do stuff that was dangerous, then they could too! Or that they just wanted freedom and didn’t want to worry about consequences. And they didn’t want a stranger telling them how to behave, LOL!
Truth or Something Like It ;)
When I shared this story with my husband, he had another great take on it. He considered the woman may have some energy issues that the dogs were picking up on, so hanging their heads (and bodies) out the car window might help them release some of that and give them a break from being in such close proximity to her. This also made sense!
Because the dogs looked so happy, I really wasn’t sure of the exact cause, nor if these interpretations were accurate. I usually get guidance and/or confirmation of communication with other beings. This was more unusual because there was very little. Sometimes that’s how it is, though, including with people. We’re only being invited to connect with other beings, whether they’re spirits, people, souls, the Universe, plants, animals, etc. 😎 Conversations are a two-way exchange. Just like we wouldn’t expect to walk up to any random person and demand he tell us his innermost thoughts, the same is true for psychic or metaphysical connections. I’ve had spirits show up and want to talk. I didn’t always know I could say, “No thank you,” so I had to learn the hard way. (I’m still learning this!) Sometimes I’m tired, not interested, their energy feels bad to me, I already feel overwhelmed by other communications and am on overload, or the timing simply isn’t right.
Reaching out (to anyone or anything) is meant as a loving gesture, and let’s make the intention we’re always doing so with kindness and consideration in mind. Others can decline our invitations, and we don’t have to take it personally. They have reasons for not wanting to connect, just like we do, and this experience was a great reminder! We also don’t know details if none are forthcoming, so my interpretation without those details was really about curiosity and a best-guess scenario based on circumstantial evidence. When I work in other parts of my life, I try very hard not to make judgments and to wait for the Universe to provide what I’m meant to know.
And what about Camel? He hung around, offering love and support during the day. I don’t know why or what his purpose was, but I was comforted to know he was there. If he comes again to offer a message, I’ll be sure to share. ❤️
